Welcome! I’m Joy!

My inspiration as a graphic designer comes from appreciating the small joys in everyday life. I’ve always been an observant person, and really believe in the art of noticing. My favourite hobbies include doodling on cafe napkins and taking pictures of everyday moments/objects- the camera roll is always FULL!

My love for being a helping hand in my community led me to a degree in Psychology and working as a front-line worker for a few years before I decided to pursue my love for creativity. Bringing my two passions together: community and creativity, led me to graphic design. Graphic design is human creativity come to life all around us. From the colours of a bus stop to the book covers at your local library- everywhere you look, design forms how we see the world and I want to be a part of making it beautiful.

I believe that when we choose joy we are able to be grateful for things we may have forgotten about or taken for granted. My design process reflects these values, by choosing to look at life in a positive, playful light and finding the beauty everywhere around us.

I love experimenting with typography, colour, photography, layout and illustration to create refined, thoughtful designs that connect with people. I value clear communication, collaboration, being silly, as well as connecting with my local community and natural surroundings.
